I had a great time working on this song with the Williams-Cone Special Chorus. We started out with a brainstorming session about all the things they love about Williams-Cone Elementary School. Then, we shaped those ideas into verses and a chorus, and spent an entire class period working on the all-important bridge. The recording session was a blast, and as you can hear, the class did a terrific job! Thanks so much for inviting me to your school, Williams-Cone...I can see why you all love it so much!
Chorus
Hey there, are you new in town?
Well, if you don't mind, I'd like to show you around
There's a place you'll feel right at home, it's my school
It's my school, it's my school, Williams-Cone
Come and join our listening flower
Music hits the petals like a cool rain shower
Glockenspiel notes go drip, drip, drop
Now let's dance like crazy 'till the music stops
Repeat Chorus
Hang your artwork in the hall
Give a high-five to the hand-printed wall
And if you really want to have fun today
We'll go stick our hands in some squishy clay
Bridge:
At recess time, we run and yell
Until the teachers ring the bell
You can slide down the slippery slide
Play on the swings
Or run and hide
It's such a fun ride
Wanna' know what 2000 times 100 is?
Step into my math class, the teacher's a whiz
Let's hit the library and read some books
They've got all my favorites come on take a look
Repeat Chorus
